Messages to Our Staff

We would like to thank our staff for their dedication to Amego's mission in caring for the individuals we serve.  Below are messages of gratitude that we have received for the amazing work you all are doing!

"We would like to give a shoutout to Kim G. and the staff at the Grandview location. Kim is so passionate about her work and has been very helpful and accommodating to us since our son moved in two years ago. She is always keeping us in the loop of everything going on with him, she responds to any questions or concerns we have right away. With all her responsibilities, she is literally on call 24/7. She has worked with the staff to provide a happy and healthy environment for our son. Sincerely, Barbara and Peter"

"We want to give a heartfelt shout-out to the incredible staff at Emerson Road for organizing such a wonderful holiday party for our loved ones and their families. The event was a true celebration of the season, filled with love, joy, and togetherness.

A special thanks to Adja, who went above and beyond to prepare a delicious meal that brought everyone together around the table. Your culinary efforts were deeply appreciated and added so much warmth to the day.

The house was beautifully transformed with festive and fun decorations, creating a magical holiday atmosphere. We are so grateful to Trust and his care team including Remi, Carolie, Jamama, Kumba, Siah and Thomas for their dedication, kindness, and the touches that made this special for all. You made everyone feel at home and truly captured the spirit of the holidays. Thank you for everything you do to create a supportive and loving environment not just during the holidays but all year round! We are truly blessed and give thanks everyday for those who keep our loved ones safe, cared for and loved.

We wish you and your families a wonderful holiday season and all good things in the new year. - The Dobrowski Family"

"We want to make a shout-out to ALL the staff at Emerson!! They made lots of delicious food, took lots of videos and pics of individuals, individuals with their parents, and played Christmas songs on YouTube! It was great to see everyone dancing to the music! The Emerson staff did an excellent job giving everyone a great time! We also want to give Heidi  a special shout out too, because as busy as she is as the Senior VP of Adult Residential programming at Amego Inc. , she still made time to come, and join everyone dancing, eating, and just have the best time at the Christmas party! She and all the Emerson staff are truly a blessing in Courtney's life, our life, and all the individuals and their family's life. - Elise and Dan Benton"

"Hi Birch Street! Such a fun visit on Saturday! Our Josh was so happy. He even did a little dancing with mom while we there. We are so grateful for all you all do. It was nice to see Ferdinand, Kristopher, David and Alieu. You all are such wonderful caregivers to our Josh. Have a wonderful week and keep up the great work.  - Sending all of our love, Darren and Rose Marino"

"I would be honored to join the Duessel Family in expressing heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff at 209. Your patience, love, care, and unwavering support have profoundly impacted our children’s lives.

For over a decade, Peter was unable to visit our home, but after moving to Amego, he began making regular visits, thanks to the dedication and compassion of the remarkable team at 209. Words cannot adequately convey how deeply grateful I am for all you do. When my sister from Ukraine visited 209, she remarked on how warm and inviting the environment felt, saying it truly felt like home. And it melts my heart to hear Peter refer to it as his home—a sentiment he never expressed about any other residence he’s lived in over the years.

I understand the immense challenges of your work, and I admire the tireless effort and boundless love you bring to it every day. What you do is nothing short of God’s work.
From the depths of my heart, I thank you all for being the extraordinary individuals you are. Wishing you and your families a joyous, healthy, and peaceful holiday season. - With love and gratitude, Elena"

"Thank you Sam for all of  your care and support with Paul as well as the other clients. I am grateful for you managing 209! I appreciate when you respond to my calls and emails and for always providing staff to bring Paul to all of his medical appointments. I was really touched when you returned from vacation this past summer and brought back a gift of clothing from Ghana for every client and shared the group picture with everyone dressed in their attire!  Paul loves his Dashiki shirt! - The Duessel Family"

"Thank you to all of the staff at 209 for your patience, care, support and compassion with Paul!  We appreciate that you regularly take him to Worcester train station to see all of the trains: Amtrak, CSX and MBTA and he loves telling us about it. Paul is routine-oriented and it's great that the monthly activity schedule is posted on the refrigerator and every Sunday after1-Nov-26-2024-08-15-13-8732-PM    his home visit, he shows me the upcoming activities for the month.  We are truly grateful for you taking Paul and his housemates once a month to Point Breeze in Webster where they can enjoy the entertainment as well as snacks! He also looks forward to going out for dinner monthly, just him and one staff.  We all know Paul loves to eat.  Most importantly I am appreciative of your support at doctor's visits and for regularly taking him to get his monthly blood work. Finally thank you sharing a picture of Paul dressed in his Halloween costume (doctor).  It made my day when I got the pictures! - The Duessel Family"

"We just wanted to reach out and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are very happy to be receiving in home services again. The Rbt, Hannah have been absolutely amazing with our daughter Annalee. We are very thankful for the swift restart of services. Thank you dearly. And we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! - The Patrick Family"

"Thanksgiving Blessings to Amego. Wanted to give a shout out to Trust at Courtney's residence, and to Sherry at Courtney's Day Program. Trust and Sherry have given Courtney the best life! Trust and Sherry have both given Courtney a quality of life beyond what we ever imagined!! They both have scheduled and provided activities  that Courtney really loves!! Courtney LOVES football games at Walpole High School, and this year is attending the home Thanksgiving game there!! Courtney really LOVES football, so this is a great experience for Courtney. Courtney also attends the Providence Bruins games, and she loves them too!  At day program, Courtney LOVES donating shoes, Meals on Wheels, and especially LOVES karaoke at the party she has on the last Friday of each month!! Courtney's residence and day program staff have enriched Courtney's life with new experiences!!  Also, they are really supportive to us, whenever we speak and  interact with them. They and all the staff at Amego have truly allowed Courtney to grow into a beautiful young Lady! - Elise and Dan"

"Thank you to Farrell at Tori Leigh Lane - thanks so much for helping Brent have a great check up at the dentist! We appreciate you being there for his Dr. appointments and always keeping us informed. We especially enjoy the pictures you send of Brent playing basketball and going bowling. We feel very lucky to have you as a house manager and so glad he gets to go out and have fun! - Amy and Michael Dressler"

"Shout out to Vanessa at Tori Leigh Lane - thanks so much for going above and beyond taking care of Brent's laundry - I know it seems small thing but it means a lot to us that you are so caring. - Amy and Michael Dressler"

"I wanted to give a shout out to Thomas, the PC at Mitchell House. He has been wonderful in his communication with me, attending appointments and overseeing all aspects of our son’s care! He is greatly appreciated by our family. - The Allen Family"

"Rosie at Stone Run - I'm not sure if you realize, but we have tremendous respect for all of the staff at Stone Run and we are beyond grateful to all of you for the incredible care you provide to Tommo. However, it will always be difficult for us to bring Tommo to his home at Stone Run because our dreams were always that he would be able to live at home with us. The fact that you sent us a photo to show us how well he was doing after we dropped him off means more to us than you will ever know. It truly healed some of our pain. THANK YOU ROSIE!! - Karen and Russ Raposa"

"Tavon has been with our son, Ford, since day one nearly three years ago and has taken the time to get to know him and more importantly what makes him tick! Ford recently moved residences and Tavon has been instrumental in the transition and has made himself available to staff at the new res to help navigate Ford! We are so grateful. - Amy and Paul Harden"

"Another great dental checkup for Ned! Thanks to Lewis for bringing Ned to the appointment and helping him be successful. Kudos to all staff for your attention to Ned's dental hygiene and helping him keep on track every day! Look Ma, no cavities! - Chris and Tom Hubbard"
 Jack

"Jack puts heart into his work every day, and that’s deserving of recognition, but he does much more. Even when facing challenges in his own life he brings a smile and kindness, leaving baggage at the door. We understand how difficult that can be, but also how important it is.  Jack spent time with her weekends we were unable to bring our girl home. I know she was extremely happy about that, but it brought us comfort too. We have many pictures of Emma smiling that incredible joyful way of hers when she’s with him. Every day apart from her is hard, but knowing she has exceptional people there like Jack eases our pain. We will never be able to find the right words to show how we feel, but Emma’s says it all with her grin and the light in her eyes. Don’t forget, once part of Emma’s family, you can never leave.  Thank you Jack! - Anders and Jenn"

"Hi Birch Street! Excellent visit on Saturday! Great seeing all you guys, Exult, David, Kristopher and Ferdinand! You all are doing a great job taking care of our son Josh. Keep it up! And thank you to Ferdinand for taking such an awesome family photo of us. We were dressed up for our wedding on Saturday in Connecticut and you took the perfect picture of us. Thanks again!
- Sending you all of our love, Darren and Rose Marino"

"I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Torin’s school team and residential team. In particular, Brittany Gould & Yeah Kristyn Donnely at the school, helped me out with a problem last week and went above and beyond to help us get it solved in a very short period of time, including taking personal time to help me out, the staff at Amego and Grandview lead by Martha, never ceases to amaze me with The open communication, careful consideration of coverage, nursing oversight, dedication, determination and the team spirit to make sure things are covered and taken care of every day is impressive…Bravo to you all!! You all do hard jobs, but I cannot tell you how deeply your efforts, communication and caring are appreciated by our family and by our son!!   -All love! Kerri & Boomer"

"I want to give a huge shout out to Jack Buckley and nurse Mel. They go above and beyond every day and recently when Emma was feeling not quite herself, they gave me frequent updates and reassurance that she was in good hands and being monitored closely (along with some really cute pictures!).  What you do makes a huge difference and the whole Newcomer family recognizes that and thanks you from the bottom of our hearts! Amego and all of the children there under your care and guidance are fortunate to have you! - Jennifer Newcomer"

"Cheronor “Sow” at the Sheridan house always goes above and beyond for my son. Anytime, I call and I know he is on shift I know my son is going to be engaged in activities and will be treated well with respect and dignity. An outstanding and valued staff member at Sheridan. Thank you! - Lisa Rader"

"There are truly no words sincere enough to tell you all at Amego how wonderful you make our family’s life. I know we say how grateful we are for the wonderful staff at Birch Street, but “grateful” doesn’t feel like a big enough word. Today, our son Josh had some behaviors before our visit, but Exult, Kristopher, David and Ebenezer helped him to pull himself together and we ended up having an awesome visit. We truly love you guys and know that if there is anything we can do to make your job easier, just let us know. You all are the best! - Sending all of our love, Rose and Darren Marino"

"Time for a Sheridan Staff shout out! For the first time we had the residents and the on shift staff over for dinner and a little TV time! The staff worked their magic with the residents, helping out with direction to clean up their plates, put dishes in dishwasher etc. The guys were perfect guests and it was great to share a meal and get to know eachother a bit more! So, Gene,Kaye and another young lady on shift deserve special recognition for taking the time to help this dinner run so perfectly! They obviously have a wonderful rapport with our guys!
Thank you to all Sheridan Staff - Linda Auger"

"We want to send a special shout out to Sherry and Marisol. They are absolutely amazing when our Tommo is having a difficult time. They are ALWAYS “at the ready” to jump in and support him. We honestly don’t know what we would do without their strength and their incredible ability to calm him during difficult times. A huge THANK YOU to both of them from the bottom of our hearts. - Karen and Russ Raposa"

"Dear Exult, Thank you for all of the excellent care that you are giving our son Josh at the Birch Street house and at his day program. Your update about the last two weeks was very encouraging. We are very grateful for you and the Birch Street staff. Have a great weekend.  - Love, Rose and Darren Marino"

“I would like to express my gratitude to the staff of my son's Peter home. As a single Mom, I struggled for many years to find support for my son. I am so glad I found Amego (and late Paul Mahoney worked tirelessly for 3 years to make sure it would be a good fit for Peter). Amego staff who work with my son are kind, professional, dedicated, loving caring people, and I am so grateful for their hard work and love they give to our family. And it is not by accident that Peter's life improved immensely over the last few years he spent at Amego. I see him calmer, happier; Peter is able to visit our home in Natick (after more than 10 years of not seeing it due to behavior problems and lack of support), go on day trips, visit his doctors and have a better quality of life. I know it is not an easy job, and I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to kind people who care for my son - Kwabena, Emmanuel and Emmanuel, Cathryn, Randy, Solomon, Fred and many others who I have not met in person, but who also provide loving care to my son Peter. From the bottom of my heart - THANK YOU! God bless you all. – Elena”

" Hi Birch Street! Thank you Exult for the excellent FaceTime with our Josh today. He looked great and thanks for letting us know he was missing us while we were away in Delaware. We’ll be back in a few days to touch base. Thanks for getting him his salad for lunch today. You guys are the best! We are very grateful for you. Have a great rest of the weekend. - Love, Darren and Rose"

You are truly the best! It was also nice to see you Addi and Ebinezer at the house today. Such a beautiful day and your gardens are amazing! I may have stolen a peony on the way out today 😉. "We want to send another shout out to Rosie and Patrick and Richard and Jonathan. Recently they have all been listening when Tommo asks for Mommy or Nana and they are giving us a FaceTime call. That means more than they will ever know. It is so difficult to have a child that can't communicate well or pick up the phone themselves to call home. The fact that they make that happen for Tommo is incredible!! Thank you for listening to him and going above and beyond to support him. - Karen and Russ Raposa"

"We recently did work for you at 5 Birch St, Franklin. I just wanted to say that Brian Christy is a pleasure to work with. Also, I observed a gentleman named Ebenezer most helpful with me but also watched him interacting with the residents with much respect and compassion. I was so impressed with his caring attitude. Please pass this along. - Michael Gifford"

"We want to let Rosie know how much we appreciate her. She always has a smile on her face and love in her eyes. I am so grateful for how she cares for Tommo and brings a sense of calm to his days. Thank you Rosie for being the amazing person you are! - Russ and Karen Raposa"

"Hi Birch Street! Excellent visit with our Josh today! John, it was so cute when Josh said that you were his best friend. Thank you for helping him put his new sheets on his bed. I hope he likes them. And Francis, thank you for your beautiful, sweet voice today. They should have a talent contest at Amego and you should enter because you would win first place! I always feel the love when you guys are around. Thank you for all that you do for our Josh. We are so grateful!  - Sending all of our love, Darren and Rose"

"Dear Mr. John Randall & Ms. Bethany McCann, and Ms. Tina McGuire, It’s been while since I have spoken with you Tina, probably last since the time when Kandeh was promoted to house manager of 326 West St. I wanted to take some time just let you know how thrilled I am and how comfortable my family and I feel knowing that he oversees West Street. I try to touch base at least once a year, usually around Christmas with most of the other guardians of the other guys in the same house and we all feel the same about Kandeh and it gives us comfort knowing that someone so caring and committed to their wellbeing oversees West Street.

I have seen the coming and goings of other house managers over the almost 20 years Joe has lived there and have never seen anyone so dedicated to the progress of each one of those guys. He has been through many difficult and joyous time (health scares, deaths, sad and celebrations) with all of them and has been a rock in their lives. I always knew he would be a wonderful asset to the company, and I am so happy with how everything is going and that Amego the foresight to make the right decision with promoting him. He gives much comfort to my family and I knowing that Joseph’s care is in his hands. I have seen some of the former house managers and the turnover that is common in this industry and this man stays certainly not for the money, but out of sincere love and care for these gentlemen.
I recently had Joe’s ISP meeting in which myself, Kandeh and the Grow Association Inc. program all participated. I was absolutely blown away at his knowledge of my brother and his needs and medical information without even having to consult any sort of paperwork. He knows and cares for these guys so much and his 15 years of service to them is a testament to his commitment and to his character. I sat in this ISP meeting and listened to a DDS case manager who didn’t know and couldn’t answer one question about my brother and was reminded at how lucky my family and all the families with clients at West Street truly are to have this man in charge.

I have worked as public-school special educator and special education administrator for 25 years and now in my final years before retirement for the Department of Mental Health and have seen how awful some of the homes are for people disabilities and seen uncaring and disinterested staff and know how lucky we are to have the group home and house manager we have been given. I know that people don’t often take the time to state when things are going well or give recognition when it’s due and after seeing Kandeh this evening when picking up my brother and the challenging issues he is faced with in dealing with an aging disabled population I felt compelled to express my gratitude to Amego Inc. and to Kandeh. I don’t know what your company does to recognize exceptional employees, but I certainly hope he is recognized in some way a result of this letter. I know people are always quick to complain or call when upset and believe me I have dealt with that throughout my career, and I know how important it is to write to recognize exceptional care and service. Thank you for all you do as well. - Respectfully, Kevin F. Coyne and the entire Coyne Family"

"We want to thank the entire team for going above and beyond to ensure that Tommo's teeth and overall oral health is maintained. We know it is not easy to take care of someone else's mouth and we continue to be impressed with their skill and dedication. Words cannot express our gratitude. We also want to send a shout out specifically to Francito and Japh because they have truly found ways to bring Tommo joy. When he is happy, we are happy. THANK YOU!!! - Karen and Russ Raposa"

"Japh and Richard are always so helpful and looking to do the best they can do. Japh did such a great job cleaning Tommo's room and helped us put down his new carpet. Richard was so proud showing us how he had arranged Tommo's closet. Both his room and closet looked amazing!! They were both also very interested in learning how to get Tommo to allow better flossing of his back teeth and they took a video of me flossing his teeth for future training purposes. So grateful to both of them!!! - Karen and Russ Raposa"

"I said this in our Zoom call this evening with the other Amego families ... You are my hero Paul Mahoney. You were the smartest, kindest, most caring person that I have ever met. You helped my son be the successful person that he is today. You made me feel like you loved him the way that I love him and you wanted him to be the best version of himself that he could be. I will miss you more than I probably know right now. Rest in peace my friend. And thank you. I will always love you.  - Love, Rose and Darren Marino"

"We would like to give a huge shout out to nurse Mel Fucillo and Jack Buckley. When we were unable to bring Emma home last weekend due to an unexpected circumstance, they both stepped up and offered to take her out for a fun filled day on their own time, even though they spend five days a week with her at school, they still chose to spend their spare time with her to make her weekend a little more pleasant. From the look of the pictures that I got, her weekend was wonderful. Mel and Jack are two very special people and Amego is incredibly fortunate to have them as are all of the children who they come in contact with. Jack and Mel, thank you so much. I hope you had as much fun as Emma did and I hope that one day we can repay your kindness.  - Most sincerely- The Newcomer family❤️"

"Hi Birch Street, Thanks for a great Saturday visit with our Josh today! He was enjoying singing many tunes like “The Hokey Pokey” and some others. It just needed a little something on the walls. Have a wonderful week. We are so grateful for all of you and all that you do for our Josh.

We are so grateful that she shows that level of respect and recognizes how important that is. Thank you Rene! And finally, thank you to Vinny and Sherry for always sharing when Tommo has any type of breakthrough. We can't even put into words how much joy that brings us to know that Tommo continues to grow and learn under your care! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. - Karen and Russ Raposa"

" I would like to recognize and commend Napolean Mills and his staff of Smallwood Circle, Boylston. December 21 was our sons 28th Birthday. They were not coming home until December 24th to spend Christmas week and festivities at home with our family and friends.

Napolean took the lead and organized a wonderful birthday party at their residence with the help of the staff! They dressed my sons up, they decorated the dining room area with balloons with 28 on them. They had birthday themed table cloth and paper goods. They ordered in their favorite meal and bought a beautiful birthday cake for all to enjoy! The staff sang Happy Birthday to each of my boys showing special attention to each of them. It was wonderful to see my sons enjoying their special party with their housemates and staff! They took several photos and shared them with us.

We also had the opportunity to have two face time calls to see them and say Happy Birthday and We love you!! I cannot tell you how truly special it was for us! Thank you so very much! It was a special day for all! - Angela and Bill Masiello"

"We would like to give a shout out to the school and administration staff at Amego. The dedication that they have shown has made a huge impact on Emma‘s progress in reaching her fullest potential. She is growing and learning more because of their belief in her and their tenacity, they never give up. Sometimes the progress is very slow but when we see her reaching any goal it is such a celebration. I love how excited her staff and therapist get when they are talking about these victories, they truly care. Kelsey, Jack, Caroline, Marley, Alison, all of the classroom staff both past and present, (there are so many to mention but currently Abou, Ben and the “new” Kelsey come to mind & so many others ) and let’s not forget nurse Mel, who is making sure that when the seizures strike that Emma is receiving the care that she needs. You all are making such a positive impact on Emma’s quality of life which spills over to the entire family. Thank you all so much for all that you do! - Jennifer Newcomer"

"I want to send a shout out to the maintenance department at Amego for helping to create a more usable closet space in Jesse’s bedroom at West Bacon house. His heavy closet doors kept falling off, so upon my request they removed them to make the closet more accessible. They installed shelving that is easy to reach, and can be used for extra clothing and linens. They also assembled an extra side dresser unit that I ordered. Now his bedroom is much more functional with user friendly space for all his belongings. It’s the little things like this that don’t go unnoticed! I also want to thank Jessica and Heidi for helping to coordinate these projects. - Kathy Lewiecki"

"There are so many shout outs we could give to Marty, but we want to recognize him this week for his incredible thoughtfulness again. When Marty is preparing dinner at Stone Run, he sends us a photo of the food and how beautiful the table has been set for dinner. My wish for my son was always that he would enjoy a beautiful meal every day with his family and friends. When I receive these photos from Marty, it is like my wish has come true and it brings us such joy! He also shares the joys of Tommo's day with my extended family and they are always telling me how much it means to them to receive text messages from Tommo. This is something that would simply be impossible for Tommo to do without Marty!! We know very often individuals with disabilities can be forgotten by family .... but Marty helps them to remember him often. From the bottom of our hearts.... THANK YOU MARTY! - Karen and Russ Raposa"

"I just saw pictures of Carmen outside at the 7/4 cookout I am amazed! He rarely goes outside and to see him sitting with his housemates and staff was so wonderful! I am so grateful to Jonisha and Sheraton house staff! I commend each of you, well done!!!! a million thanks to all! - Linda Auger"

"Thank you to Ernie and Napoleon for visiting us at our home today. You were both so kind to our son Bill who has pneumonia and helped transition his twin, Jon, back to his group home. You are both so very kind hearted people and we appreciate what you do for our boys. It was so nice to see your interaction with our son who is sick in trying to get a smile out of him- you at least got a smirk! Jon went back to his home and was very calm. We understand he was having a good van ride listening to music! Thank you both! Have a good weekend. - Bill and Angela"

"Hi guys, thanks for helping Josh to have a great day while we are away at Darren’s pickleball tournament in Florida. We will give to a call later to see how everyone is doing. We are so grateful for all of you.  - Sending all of our love, Rose and Darren"

"Words simply can not express our gratitude and admiration for both Sarah and Jessica. They took personal time yesterday to bring incredible joy into our son Tommo's life. There are very few things that make him happy, but jumping at the trampoline park is one of them. It takes incredible patience, strength and lots of coordination to take Tommo on an outing, but they both took the time to make it happen and for that we are beyond grateful. - Russ and Karen Raposa"

"Hi guys, Thanks for a great visit with our Josh today. Thank you for helping him pick out the beautiful Mother’s Day flowers and card for me. You made me feel so special. Darren and I wish all of your wives and mothers a Happy Mother’s Day. We are so grateful for all of you!  -Sending all of our love, Darren and Rose"

"Hi. Tom and I wanted to give a shout out to the staff at Upton for helping Ned with self-care, including toothbrushing. Just had another successful dental appointment (thanks Lewis and Winifred!). Ned's dentist commented on how she has seen so many patients from group homes who have lost ground on their dental care during the pandemic. She complimented Ned's Amego staff on the great job they have been doing. Thank you all so much for taking good care of our guy! - Christine Hubbard"
